im 42 my kids are 24 20 and 16 i also have a 3 year old granddaughter a lot of men can and do accept single mums but when you become a grandparent ot seems to get a lot harder. i work full time but do odd hours and i spend a lot of time with my granddaughter but i wouldnt swap my life. i think its hadr on the kids. my granddaughter has no contact with her father and never has had as for my own kids my eldest is in touch with her father for the sake of her own child, but my sons never see there dad as he has no time for them thats his loss not mine. he doesnt even no how old his kids are or what they are doing as for me i am very proud of my kids and how they have turned out but i still get lonely and would like to meet someone...... ah well maybe one day........ we can all dream

Hi, It isn't just men that are like that, i am 43 now, omg . But i am a single parent of two boys, one just 5 and the othe will be 7. I have only been on here since jan, i have seen several female profiles, most the same age group as myself, but because they have had their kids alot younger than myself, and they have now moved on or are able to fend for them selves ,they have no intrest in dating single guys with kids unless they are old enough to fend for them selves. So what do you do, fingers crossed , Well it is sadly a fact of life, you can only hold your head up and keep looking forward as they say.

Hi Well I must be another exception then as I am 43 and have two children aged 8 and 13 so still dependant.
Another thing....why do men mail you, you look at their profiles and think ok they sound like the sort of person I am looking for, so mail them back just to get no reply!!!!
I wish everyone well on the site as we all would like someone special in our lives. xx

I am 60 and is my experience that females dote on grandchildren. It depends on the guy and what his expectations of his remaining life is going to be, but for the man that wants to be adventurous and see the world this priority of kids and grandkids may be too much baggage if the woman cannot be happy without seeing and being with them on a regular basis.
also the financial aspect a mother will most readily give into lending and giving finance to her siblings this is ok of course as long as it doesnt interfere with their personal lives and needs.

I would date a single parent. Women my age tend to have kids i am a single dad of an 17 year old girl and women run a mile when they hear that so it goes both ways i think.
