DaevidCarter thought today, there are people with broken hearts. DaevidCarter just this moment, wrote this for you.
A Princess had a Diamond.
It was bestowed upon her by a god.
The god wanted nothing in return and could and would never, ever see her again.
Hence he dwelled in the Oubliette forever, aawww!
The Diamond was so perfect, cut perfectly by a perfect gemologist!
It's cut was concise and the facets were perfect.
Angels would sneak a peek so they could comb their hair in the reflection of a facet.
The size of the Diamond was modest but impressive, neither a mountain not an atom.
Its clarity was pure, it had no colour.
It was transparent so it could never taint that which was seen through it.
In a way, it was like a Soul, which, though indefinable, could define, in spacetime, what it saw.
The only way in which the Diamond showed off was this.
Any pure ray of light would refract and when this occurred, there were fireworks that could be seen from the higher realms, even to the domain of the Akashic Records!
When a sunbeam fell perchance on the Gem, a thousand brilliant colours and a million different hues eminated from the Stone.
The diamond never betrayed the sunbeam, it merely showed the sunbeam all of it's illuminous attributes.
Nothing added, nothing taken away.
The interesting thing was this.
Some said "My d_g, can you see that beautiful array of brlliant colour?"
The person seated next to them would usually say "What are you talking about? I see only the window needs cleaning!"
Your Diamond was given to you by a god.
The one who sees it's brilliant refraction, it's rainbow, is that god!

Hey, DC!
Two questions:-
1. What were you on?
2. Can you get me some?

I've tried that. In the long term it doesn't work.
Good whisk(e)y is better.

And we'll bask in the shadow
Of yesterday's triumph
Sail on the steel breeze
Come on you boy child, you winner and loser
Come on you miner
For truth and delusion and shine

Full many a gem of purest ray serene
The dark unfathom'd caves of ocean bear:
Full many a flower is born to blush unseen,
And waste its sweetness on the desert air.
