Ladies do you have an opinion on guys that don't know you, calling you "hun" , "sweetie" "pretty" and heavens , the worst of them all "dear" !!!! I find it tummy curdling when I get mail referring me to one of these awful terms. In fact I don't even bother to read them . Please gentlemen ( loosely said) call us by our username if you do not know us well enough or have not had our permission to call us by another name !!!

Hun I don't mind,
pretty or my dear I do. They are terms that only someone who knows you should use and once you get to know me you'd know not to use them any way as I hate them lol!

I find as a general rule that "hello pretty" usually comes from someone I suspect of being a ****, I've had lots of e mails that start like this and then go on to profess undying love before even receiving a reply from me and "my dear " makes me feel about 12 and that the e mailer is in his later years lets say so that feels very wrong!

Why not use the user name or just say "hi I'm sending you an email etc etc etc................"

I agree with you that they sound sweet when in dialogue with someone you've e mailed or spoken to b4 but it's wrong when you've not heard from someone b4 and they send you "hello pretty", "Hi Babe", " I've seen your profile and you've been sent to me by God" especially since they have not even read your profile etc.

I think its sweet cos I speak to my girlfriends like that...I always call them sweetie or babe, even my boy mates ...emails with something ridiculous such as 'you've been sent to me by God' gets a delete straight away tho!! it's too faulse
