Do you think how you were raised, what your social background is, whether you grew up rich or poor; abused, spoiled, or your standard of education etc, affect who you are attracted to and who you attract?

If the answer is yes, do similarly ‘matched’ couples REALLY have happier and longer lasting relationships than say, partners that could be deemed as ‘opposites', or will their 'monotony' inevitably lead to boredom & eventual break up?

My dear Sarah, do you think that if anyone knew the answer to that question there would be even 10% of the divorces that there are?

And would there be any need for sites like this?

I don't know the answer and I hope I never do. All relationships are like a voyage of discovery (and so they should be).

All I do know is that I am attracted to intelligent, articulate, women who can argue their case with reason and understanding. Unattractive is a bit of a downer (but not necessarily a 'no-no'), attractive in some way is good and beautiful is a bonus.

24 would be fantastic, so what are you doing tonight?

I know there's no real answer, but most people seem to have opinions (especially on this site).

Unfortunately, I'm washing my hair tonight.

Sarahstheone!   What you need is a stirring up of your life!

Can someone make you feel like your senses are buzzing?

Can they torture your mind in the mannner of irresistible force meeting immovable objects?

Can someone talk you into taking a tandem bunjee jump with five minutes notice?

Can someone seem like a guru though at the same time can see you as  their Kwan Yin?

Can someone dance you to the end of love (Cohen)?

Boredom?  I would rather smash my skull upon a rock!

Let's try some reverse engineering.

You have just eaten the most beautiful soup you have ever tasted.

Heat up the ingredients that went into your bowl.

Pour them back in the pot and set the flame to cool them.

Take out any last minute seasoning.

Take out any late ingredients.

Make the time turn backwards.

Take out the main ingedients.

Go back and unprepare and unchop the ingredients.

Go back to the shop, unweigh everything and return them on the shelves.

Take your money out of the till.

Put it back in your purse...

So now you will know how to prepare the recipe for anything!

PS, I keep my skull well away from the rock!

I said "reading" DC; that does not necessarily mean understanding.

In fact, I find I understand his work best when I'm stoned.

I guess that's the definitive answer and we needn't bother any more.

Well, you see, DC, the butler was always resentful because he knew that his father was actually the old Lord Camberley's bastard, and he considered he had a rightful claim on a share of the Delacroix diamond, but when Jessica took it upon herself to to mortgage the Manor, (you will stop me if I'm going too fast for you...................

Hi Sarah
I believe that all of these things have an effect on our attraction to others and the success of our relationships.  I particularly think that to have a similar level of intelligence is essential for one partner to treat the other as equal and for both partners to continue to stimulate each other.  Perhaps my own love life (lives) would have been more successful had I considered these things more important than mini-skirts and long legs................. x
